You have come to the website of Manning Parish. Our Church is named after Pope Pius X. He was born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto on 2 June 1835. He was elected Pope in August 1903 and took on the name Pius X. He died on 20 August 1914 and was canonised in 1954 as Pope Saint Pius X.
Our Parish logo is designed to link to Pope Pius X. When he became the Bishop of Mautua he was inspired by Hebrew 6:19 “the hope we have is the sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.” Later he pointed out that “hope is the sole companion of my life, the greatest support in uncertainty, the strongest power in situations of weakness.” It can be summarised as “Christ our Anchor.” The Southern cross speaks for itself.
